Ms. Wright's 6th Grade Language Arts classes will be reading, discussing, and creating projects in a collaborative novel study of The Magician's Elephant.
The following is a guide of our study:
Week 1: View the blog, discuss what we are doing, set up electronic journal, read Chapter 1.
Week 2: "Story in a Palm" Activity. Read Chapters 2-4 and answer discussion ?'s 1-5 in journal.
Week 2: Read Chapters 5-9
Week 3: Read Chapters 9-12 & answer Discussion ?'s 6-7 in journal.
Week 4: Read Chapters 13-16 & answer Discussion ?'s 8-9 in journal. Begin "Portentous Dreams" Activity.
Week 5: Discuss "Portentous Dreams" Activity results. Read Chapters 17-20 & answer Discussion ?'s 10-11. Discuss Novel Projects.
Week 6: "Fortune Teller Tent" Activity & work on Novel Projects.
